Why are no leads appearing?
Check three things on the YouTube page, in order. First, Comment lead mining must be switched on for the channel — nothing is polled while it is off. Second, look at Last checked on the channel card: an active channel is re-polled every 30 minutes, a quiet one every 6 hours, and the first sweep runs about a minute after connecting. Third, check today's API usage — when the daily quota runs out the miner pauses until midnight UTC. Only videos published in the last 60 days are polled.
A viewer asked 'where can I buy this?' and no contact was created. Why?
A contact is created automatically only when the comment contains a phone number AND reads as buying intent, a price question, a location question or a shipping question. YouTube does not expose commenters' contact details, so a comment with no number has nothing to create a contact from. It still appears in Leads for you to action.
Can BeeCastly reply to comments automatically?
No, and this is deliberate. Nothing in BeeCastly writes to YouTube on your behalf — the OAuth scopes we request are read-only by default. Our Chrome extension inserts a saved reply into YouTube's own comment box and you press send, so every published reply is one you approved.
Can BeeCastly send DMs to my subscribers?
No. YouTube has no direct-message API and gives no one your subscriber list. That is exactly why each connected channel gets a public opt-in page (the link is on the YouTube page in your dashboard): you share it in a description or pinned comment, and viewers who want WhatsApp updates opt in themselves.
Connecting the channel failed. What do the errors mean?
state_expired means the consent screen sat open longer than 10 minutes — start the connect again. access_denied means consent was declined on Google's screen. connect_failed usually means the Google account you signed in with does not own a YouTube channel; sign in with the account that manages the channel. If you land back on the page with no channel at all, check that you picked the right Google account when more than one was offered.
What does 'quota exhausted' mean?
YouTube meters API access in daily units shared across everyone on the platform plan, and the counter resets at midnight UTC. While you are at the cap the miner pauses, live capture stops, and the video picker returns an error. If you hit it regularly, connect your own Google Cloud project on the channel card — YouTube then bills the quota to your project instead.
My channel says disconnected.
Google revokes the grant when the password changes, when access is removed from the Google account's security settings, or when the token goes unused for six months. Reconnect from the YouTube page — your mined comments, templates and tracked links all survive a reconnect.
Live chat capture is not picking anything up.
Live capture only runs while a broadcast is genuinely live — we detect it from your five most recent uploads and stop polling when the stream ends. It also costs five times what comment polling does, so it stops when the daily quota is gone. Messages it captures appear in Leads marked Live chat; they have no watchable video link because a past live chat message has no timestamped URL.
My short link shows clicks but no WhatsApp starts.
A WhatsApp start is only counted when a click is followed by an actual WhatsApp conversation within an hour, matched through the WhatsApp webhook. If WhatsApp is not connected, or the link points somewhere other than a wa.me destination, clicks will count and starts will not.
Is the QR code the same as the short link?
Yes. The QR encodes the short URL, not the destination, so you can change where a link points later and every printed QR keeps working.
